Speakers include Hon. Mike Eman, Prime Minister of Aruba and OCTA Vice Chair; Hon. Vittus Qujaukitsoq, Greenland’s Minister of Finance, Mineral Resources & Foreign Affairs, and Mr. Adnan Z. Amin, Director General of the International Renewable Energy Agency (IRENA).
The Global Island Partnership (GLISPA) and Association of Overseas Countries and Territories (OCTA) are coordinating this high-level event co-hosted by H.E. Mike Eman, Prime Minister for Aruba and Vice-Chair of OCTA, and The Hon. Didier Dogley, Seychelles’ Minister for Environment, Energy and Climate Change on behalf of the Global Island Partnership (GLISPA) Leaders. This event aims to:
1. Showcase the array of sustainable island solutions that are advancing climate adaptation, building resilience, and can be of great value for developing, as well as, developed countries;
2. Inspire governments, international organizations and public and private entities to support implementation of innovative island solutions and mobilize greater action for islands;
3. Launch GLISPA’s ten year anniversary and its 2030 Strategy to build resilient and sustainable island communities; and give OCTAs 2015-2020 strategy visibility beyond the EU.
