Job opportunities: 11th EDF Caribbean Regional Programme

The Caribbean OCTs Resilience, Sustainable Energy and Marine Biodiversity Programme (ReSEMBiD) is financed under the 11th European Development Fund (EDF) Caribbean OCT Regional Programme.

The programme was formally endorsed on 25 October by the European Commission, represented by Director Jolita Butkeviciene, and Sint Maarten, as Regional Authorising Officer and represented by Prime Minister Leona Marlin-Romeo.

Expertise France has been selected for implementing the programme, and is currently recruiting for the Project Coordination Unit. Deadline for application: 30/11/2018

Project Director

The Regional Project Director is responsible for the proper conduct of the project as a whole. He/she is accountable to Expertise France, the Regional Authority Officer (RAO), the project partners and the European Union (EUD based in Guyana). His/her action will focus on the following main areas of intervention: development and management of the project, communication on project results and capitalization of achievements, and the establishment and maintenance of strong relations with various stakeholders and attention to the sustainability of the results.

Resilience and Climate change adaptation Senior Advisor

Under the supervision of Expertise France, the Advisor will assume the position of technical advisor of the project. He/She will mainstreaming resilience and climate change adaptation into the project logframe and workplans. The horizontal component on resilience will include actions to tackle the vulnerability of OCTs economic infrastructure, developing disaster preparedness and management plans and tools, as well as assessing the risks of the OCTs and developing risk finance strategies tailored to their specific needs. The expert will need to have a sound comprehension of the Marine Biodiversity and Sustainable Energy issues in order to ensure the project coherence.

Geographic Coordinator

Under the responsibility of the Project Director, the geographic coordinator will be in charge of the animation of the regional cooperation and coordination and supervise the implementation of the project’s activities. He/She will work in collaboration with the project director, the senior technical advisor, two other geographic coordinators, and other relevant staff. He/she will travel frequently in different OCTs.
