Marine Energy in the OCTs - Technical Workshop
in the margin of the
3rd Summit of OCTs Energy Ministers
Organised by
The Overseas Countries and Territories Association
In Fall of 2016, the Unit DEVCO C6 of the European Commission, at the request of the Unit DEVCO 06 for the OCTs, kindly presented us the EU Technical Assistance Facility (TAF) for the Sustainable Energy for All (SE4All) Initiative. OCTA immediately seized this opportunity to further explore the potential of Marine Energy sources in the context of the Overseas Countries and Territories, as we believe that small islands can make great cases for piloting new technologies or showcasing new technological solutions, attracting investors and sponsors.
The objective of the technical workshop on Marine Energy in the Overseas Countries and Territories, organized in the margin of the 3rd Summit of OCT Energy Ministers was to assist in taking stock of the OCTs potential and to support the sustainable energy transitions and decarbonization of our islands.
The workshop was based on the Desk Study Report on Marine Renewable Energy produced in July 2017 by the EU TAF SE4ALL.
