Save the date - OCTA Webinar on the EU Biodiversity Strategy for 2030

9 November 2020

Save-the-date – OCTA is organising a Webinar on the EU Biodiversity Strategy for 2030 on the 26th of November at 21:00 Brussels time (GMT+1). The webinar will last for approximately 90 minutes and will take place entirely in English.

The new 2030 Biodiversity Strategy is a comprehensive, systemic and ambitious long-term plan for protecting nature and reversing the degradation of ecosystems. It is a key pillar of the European Green Deal and of EU leadership on international action for global public good and for achieving the sustainable development goals. Due to the richness in biodiversity of the OCTs (acknowledged in the Council Conclusions on the Strategy), an introduction to this Strategy is of great value.

The Webinar will feature a presentation of the Strategy and its role in the context of the European Green Deal by an expert from the European Commission, followed by reactions to the Strategy by speakers from GLISPA and IUCN, as well as short presentations of successful initiatives carried out under the financing of the BEST 2.0. program.

We hope you will be interested in joining. Invitations to the webinar, together with a detailed programme of the presentations, will be sent out by November 16. Please save the date.

For early registration, please contact Andrei Moarcas at andrei@overseas-association.eu. Official registration will begin after November 16.
